How to Play Gold Mine

Gold Mine is a free online minesweeper puzzle with a gold-digging twist. If you have never played minesweeper before, this guide walks you through every rule step by step so you can start clearing stages in minutes.
The Basic Rules
The board is a grid of covered tiles. Some tiles hide a mine; the rest are safe. Your goal is to uncover every safe tile without ever digging up a mine.
Tap or click a covered tile to reveal it. Reveal a mine and the run ends immediately, so every move is a small decision.
Reading the Numbers
When you open a safe tile it shows a number from 1 to 8. That number is exactly how many mines are hidden in the eight tiles touching it.
A tile with no nearby mines shows nothing and automatically opens the whole connected safe area in a chain — a fast way to clear large regions. Use the numbers along the edges to deduce where the mines must be.
Flags, Gold, and Dynamite
When you are sure a tile hides a mine, flag it so you do not open it by accident.
Gold tiles reward you with points when opened safely, and dynamite hints let you open extra safe tiles early in a stage.
- Flag a mine: long-press on mobile, or right-click on desktop.
- Gold tiles add to your score — collect as many as you safely can.
- Dynamite hints reveal safe tiles to give you a head start.
Quakes and Clearing a Stage
From later stages onward, quakes occur every few turns and shuffle the mines to new hidden positions, so the board keeps you on your toes.
Clear every safe tile to finish the stage and advance. Each new stage adds more mines and raises the challenge, so your high score climbs the further you dig.
